Emergency booklet re-think..
I had a re-think on the type face for the EMERGENCY booklet, struck me when I was developing the cover that I had used a san serif typeface in the poster so for consistency reasons I altered and chose san serif type for the booklet spreads...
Emergency booklet chosen spreads.
I thought these spreads were the most successful mainly because the image lined up with the body copy on the left page, the problem with the photographs was the size I could scale them to as they aren't high resolution images. For this brief I don't think this is too much of a problem as I have resolved within the design itself, and it was important to use images directly from the source EMERGENCY I thought. In the future If I was working on the job as a live brief I would not hesitate to contact EMERGENCY to request high res images from them.
Emergency booklet spread tests on indesign...
Took the sketch of the spread I liked for the booklet, chose a serif typeface because I wanted the booklet to come across as pretty formal as it is discussing a very serious issue. The spreads changed mainly to accommodate the photographs.
Emergency booklet Photographs...
I aquired some photographs for the brief from the EMERGENCY UK website, www.emergencyuk.org these images will be the most appropriate to use in the booklet as they are used by the charity themselves throughout different sections of their website.
