Getting the imagery together to then fit typography to it...

Took me a while to get my head around this brief, I knew I wanted to produce some limited edition typographic artworks to go with song lyrics but the historical setting for 78Rpm - Mp3 took quite a bit of researching, here is what I jotted down as initial theme areas and then moved onto researching years of songs and what they were recorded on from 78Rpm - Mp3.

I have gone with the theme "ignorance is bliss" which features song lyrics from songs that are uplifting and make you forget the troubles in the world.

Here is the pagination for the booklet, set out so the coloured stock works best with the topic.

Here are the spreads I have gone on to develop. Need some feedback on them as I have been working quite closely to this project. I need to sort the type out - on the baseline grid and then I will print the spreads to be discussed in a crit. I will probably mock-up the whole booklet so they can get a feel of how it will all come together.

Here is a sketch of how I want the cover to be. The title will be die cut in industry settings, and behind from the fold in the cover will be the NHS logo in a repeat pattern to be revealed through the typography.

There needs to be some sort of consistency with the "every three minutes" line of text for every new topic discussed...

Booklet to be produced under the title for each chapter as every 3 minutes...

It will be for the NHS, as I have chosen medical based topics. The idea is to give people a 3 minute warning, by reading all the bad things that happen every 3 minutes it will be up to them to make the most of their next 3 minutes and so on, and be healthy.

Chosen to work on quotes found in Shakespeare's plays and sonnets, as a great British icon I feel this will definitely give the window display the under lining British feel requested in the brief. Here are some rough ideas I have been working on.
