Cosmos and Culture - science museum exhibition boards

Cosmos and Culture - final resolutions.

Here are some photos of the final resoltuions with the alterations made to the reveal poster and leaflet. I am hoping if I get time to print a larger version of the poster on A2.

Cosmos and Culture - exhibition leaflet mock-up 1

This mock-up wasn't really that successful as the alignment of the print out was all wrong, also the black stroke outlines looked rubbish, so for the final design I want to get rid of these and add more of an element of the stars, maybe in the background. I am happy with the format, needs a few tweaks on the folds though.

Cosmos and Culture - exhibits information development...

Here are some design ideas for communicating some of what is being exhibited at teh science museums, cosmos and culture exhibition.

Cosmos and Culture - exhibits information format ideas...

I sketched out a few format ideas but the one that stood out the most was the envelope type format as it was the closest shape to a star which I felt ran with the current concept I was using for the other materials for the exhibition.

Cosmos and culture: Poster alterations

Here are the alterations to the bottom layer where I have added bits of information about each constellation.

Cosmos and culture: Poster mock-up

Here are photos of the mock-up, I plan to print the final version on A2 but this test is just on A3. The perforation and everything worked nicely, I feel information about the constellations are lacking from this version so I will be adding type about the constellation in the bottom layer so that is revealed at the same time as the constellation shape.

Cosmos and culture: Poster development - adding the type

Here is the development of taking the illustrations of the stars into Indesign to add the type and sort out the layout, I will then print these on sand coloured stock as this stock worked quite nice on the invite tests.

Cosmos and culture: Poster development

So I couldn't find a photograph of the constellations like I wanted so I set myself the tedious tadk of drawing each star in illustrator! :O

1hr half later it is complete, I think it looks pretty cool, not sure whether to have black or blue noght sky though. Anyway here are some screen caps of the development so far, the initial image, my image and adding the reveal flaps to the top layer.

I also started working on the bottom layer of actually connecting the constellations, each one will have some info about the constellation somewhere on the poster, or at least its name.

Cosmos and culture: Poster Idea Sketches...

Here are some sketches of adapting the constellation reveal to a poster format...

Cosmos and Culture - constellations and reveal development mock-up 2

Another mock-up of the reveal invite, worked so much better this time, the perforation didn't rip the stock! :) I am pretty pleased with this as a test, but want to push the idea further onto a poster format, also as far as the invite goes I want to try more stock, probably heavier stocks, and maybe test some foiling on the logo to give the invite a more special and personal feel.
